As previously communicated, we are planning to trial the expanded North Stand’s general admission seating at 100% capacity at Sunday’s Premier League match against Aston Villa. This is dependent on the Club passing a series of operational and safety checks, with initial internal testing successful so far.
The final test event in the expanded North Stand will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 20 May 2026, with fans in attendance.
A strong turnout at tomorrow’s test event will play an important role in helping us complete the final checks. Thousands of fans have already secured tickets, and their attendance will allow us to fully test the facility and meet all required standards.
We understand it’s a busy time for supporters, but failure to meet attendance requirements may impact our ability to operate at full capacity on Sunday.
Should this test event proceed successfully, the remaining tickets are scheduled to go on sale on Thursday afternoon to existing Cityzens Matchday and Junior Members (as of Wednesday 18 June 2025), subject to the successful outcome of Wednesday’s test event.
Further details, including exact on-sale timings, will be confirmed as early as possible following the final test event. Fans will be given advance notice ahead of the Club going on sale, but we expect this timeframe to be shorter than usual.
Should we successfully pass, Sunday’s ticketholders will be among the very first fans to experience the new stand and help make history by setting a new attendance record for the Etihad Stadium.
Please note that there will be a reduced food and beverage offering for this match, and some elements of the fit-out works are expected to remain ongoing until the start of next season.
