Manchester City’s esports professionals secured three top 10 finishes as the world’s best players competed against each other at the Gamers8 Fortnite event in Saudi Arabia.

The $2 million tournament, which was the first major in-person event since the COVID-19 pandemic, saw players compete in 44 teams of two in both a traditional Battle Royale and a zero build game, with $1 million prize money available in each format.

Hellfire, Skram and Threats were City’s representatives in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, where they won a combined total of $272,200 in three separate duos with other professionals.  

Hellfire was in a duo with Trippern. They finished second to win $150,000 in the zero build event and 13th in the Battle Royale which secured $10,000.

Skram claimed fourth spot in the Battle Royale, winning $75,000 alongside his partner Andilex, to add to the $10,800 they won for an 11th placed finish in the zero build.

Threats, who was in a team with Mackwood, finished ninth in the zero build competition, winning $20,000 and collected $6,400 for a 30th placed ranking in the Battle Royale.
