Man City Esports, the esports division of Manchester City, is pleased to announce the renewal of its collaboration with world-leading esports organisation Gen.G.

The announcement of the renewed collaboration between Manchester City and Gen.G follows a host of successful activities in 2023, many of which centred around the Club’s pre-season tour in Asia.

The renewed partnership will continue to blend the worlds of traditional sport and esports to create unique fan experiences and engaging content for Man City and Gen.G’s global audiences.

The collaboration will see a number of co-branded activations for fans in Korea, including an exclusive game coaching programme for Cityzens in Korea, delivered by the GGA.

Man City and Gen.G will also team up to run an amateur gaming tournament for League of Legends players across Korea.

SUCCESS IN THE ARENA

Gen.G field eight top-level esports teams across titles including League of Legends, Valorant and PUBG/PUBG Mobile.

The Korean organisation have won several global championships including two victories at the prestigious League of Legends World Championship and the four most recent League of Legends Champions Korea titles.

Gen.G also leads in esports education with their Gen.G Global Academy (GGA) aimed at fostering the growth of the next generation of talent through gaming.

Man City Esports have continued to grow in success with 2023/24 the Club’s best run of performances across Fortnite and FC 24.

In the former, City claimed our first ever FNCS title after Joshua ‘Cold’ Butler and his duo Acorn were crowned FNCS Major 1 champions.

And in the latter, Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt and Matias Bonanno, who joined Man City Esports’ FC roster in 2023, helped City make history when they lifted the ePremier League title, making us the first club to win the title twice.

Bonanno’s success continued at Dreamhack Summer where he won the competition and qualified for the Esports World Cup later this year.
