The Portuguese FC 27 pro player secured his spot in the latest stage of the prestigious competition on Sunday after a difficult set of knockout fixtures.
Competing in Europe West, Jafonso had to win three games against some of the best pros if he was to book his spot at Globals.
First, he beat Niksneb 9-5 before an 11-9 win over NMarwanMC9 and 5-4 victory over familiar foe Marc Marley completed the perfect outing for our ePremier League champion.
Now, Jafonso will begin preparing for his Swiss stage matches of the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, which will begin on Friday 6 November.
After placing in the top four of the 2026 World Championships, Jafonso’s ePremier League duo Matias Bonanno already has his seat at the FC Pro Open, which Jafonso will be looking to join him at with a successful run at the Global Qualifier.
Summer signing GuiBarros will also be competing in the Global Qualifier following his top 16 finish in the 2026 FC Pro Open.
Further details on the FC Pro Open Global Qualifiers will be on mancity.com and the Official Man City App in due course.
