Fans in attendance included over 100 members of the Hollywood, Camarillo, Orange County and Redondo Beach Blues Official Supporters Club (OSC) branches - many of whom had started queuing at 7:30.
In honour of the location, which boasts a renowned Walk of Stars, we also put on a Walk of Fame, featuring Pep Guardiola, Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and guest Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Inside the event, there was a live Q&A with Wright-Phillips pre-match, a 360 camera trophy experience, soccer clinics from local coaches as well as a ‘meet and greet’ with SWP post-match, exclusive to our OSC members.
We also gifted each branch a 2022/23 signed player shirt, as well as a host of other giveaways.
Kate DeMallie, Hollywood Official Supporters Club committee member, described the experience of watching the Eagles game with so many City supporters as ‘almost surreal’.
She said it ‘felt so energizing’ to be among fellow sky blue fans for the 1-0 win.
She told us: “The experience was incredible. The attention to detail to really transform the theatre and surrounding space into an exclusive Man City destination was incredibly well done.
“The Hollywood Walk of Fame stars on the ground was the icing on the cake to tie our two cities together.
“Watching the game in the theatre with hundreds of City fans was almost surreal. We’re used to watching at the bar, early mornings, with a good group of people but to have hundreds all in one place felt so energizing!
“To have Shaun host and be such a gracious ambassador was a pleasure.
“I absolutely loved the new experiences that were there, too. The 360° trophy cam was awesome – a memory I’ll keep with me for a long time.
“This club has brought some of the most incredible moments to this fan base and I absolute love cheering for City alongside some of my best friends I’ve met because of it.”
Prior to Los Angeles, Shaun and the trophy also stopped in Mexico City, with an activation at the Culto retail store in Oasis Coyoacan in Mexico City.
We saw 25 members of the Mexico City Official Supporters Club, as well as other fans of City, visit the event to see the Premier League trophy in person and to meet Shaun.
Just like in Los Angeles, we presented the branch with a signed shirt as well as other giveaways.
Eduardo Velazco, a member of the Mexico City OSC, said: “To see the trophy up close together with the branch was an incredible opportunity.”
Another member, Edgar Antonio, continued: “I had the opportunity to chat a little bit to Shaun, someone who has been very important to City over the years.
“I will be eternally grateful to the people who made this possible.”
Daniel Lazaro added: “For a person of my age, seeing Shaun filled me with great nostalgia.”
