Cold, Setty and Threats all secured their places in the prestigious competition in each of the three Majors that are used as pathways to the Global Championship.
Unlike the trio of Majors, Global Championships will be an in-person event at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
And while the City pro players practise ahead of their trip to Texas, here is a breakdown of how each of the Club’s Fortnite extraordinaries qualified with their respective duos.
COLD
Joshua ‘Cold’ Butler was the first City Esports Fortnite pro to qualify for the Global Championship.
And he did so in spectacular fashion when, alongside his duo Acorn, the then 16-year-old was crowned FNCS champion.
And in achieving the feat, he helped City claim the Club’s first FNCS title and also picked up a staggering $140,000 prize pool.
SETTY
One of the Club’s EU competitors, Iwo ‘Setty’ Zajac is one of the most exciting players in the European scene.
Alongside his fellow Polish duo, Setty and Kami placed third which was one of five Global Championship spots up for grabs in the Major 2 Grand Finals.
They also won $100,000 in prize money with the duo showcasing some of their best gameplay of the year.
THREATS
City’s third and final pro that has progressed to Global Championship is Aidan ‘Threats’ Mong.
In the final opportunity to qualify for the major event of the year, through the Major 3 Grand Finals, 12 spots for Global Championship were there for the taking in NA.
With his duo Trashy, Threats and his partner placed fifth and won $50,000 while claiming one of the final spots for the all-important Global Championship.
A preview for the Global Championship will be available on mancity.com and the Official Man City App later this month.
Everyone at Manchester City would like to congratulate Cold, Stetty, Threats and their duos on qualifying for Fortnite Global Championship and wish them all the very best of luck competing.
