The organisation is launching our first squad in the exciting, extremely popular video game and will begin competing in the professional space this weekend, with the team set to make our debut in the RLCS 2026 Kick-Off Weekend.
The event will see the best teams in North America and Europe go head-to-head in the hopes of securing a place at the Boston Major. And our first game will see us take on NOVO Esports on Friday evening.
Launched in 2015, Rocket League is a vehicular football video game that is free to play. The premise of the game sees you play as a car, which you must use to hit the ball into the opponent’s goal.
There are a variety of game modes, including one-v-one, two-v-two, three-v-three and four-v-four.
In the competitive space, Man City Esports will field a three-man team in line with the competition rules.
The Manchester City team will be made up of players Aston Smith, known as Accro, William ‘ejby’ Lorentzen and fellow Dane Christian ‘TempoH’ Mortensen.
And leading the team is our new Rocket League coach, Noah Hinder, who has experience in coaching Moist Esports and Lyost Esports. The 27-year-old is also a former pro player who represented a variety of teams in previous competitions.
Everyone at Manchester City is delighted to welcome Noah, Accro, Ejby and TempoH to the Club and wish them the very best of luck competing!
