City’s Rocket League trio, Ejby, Accro and Seikoo will take centre stage in Nanterre, France in what is City’s debut outing at a Rocket League Championship Series.
The Blues qualified for our first RLCS after placing fifth in the European rankings of the Paris Major Opens last month.
Since then, they’ve been hard at work preparing for the LAN event as we look to lift the title and win $102,000.
Ahead of our first game, here is everything you need to know about the format of the competition and City’s potential route to the trophy...
GROUP STAGE
The Group Stage will take place across Wednesday 20 May and Thursday 21 May.
City have been drawn in Group B and will face NRG, MIBR and Five Fears all in a best of five single round robin match.
The winner of each group will qualify for the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs.
The second and third-place teams in each group will advance to the Lower Bracket of the Playoffs, with the fourth team of each group eliminated from the competition.
PLAYOFFS
Like every team, City will be looking to top our group which would allow us two chances at advancing to the final, with all Playoff matches a best of seven.
If City advance to the Playoffs and win every game, they will become RLCS Paris Major champions.
If they progress to the Upper Bracket and lose a game, they will drop to the Lower Bracket to have one final chance at progressing to the final.
If we place in the Lower Bracket from the start of the Playoffs and lose one game, our Paris Major journey will come to an end.
It means any games across Friday 22 May and Saturday 23 May are vital, with no room for error.
It all points to an exciting few days ahead for Man City Esports, with our games available to watch live on Twitch: @RocketLeague.
You can also get City-centric updates on our social media channels: @ManCityEsports.
Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Accro, Ejby and Seikoo the very best of luck in the competition.
