On Saturday 13 June, Manchester City will kick off its first ever FIFA 20 esports tournament in Singapore with the Man City FIFA 20 Cup, supported by the Club’s long-term partner, Nexen Tire.

With on-the-pitch action currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, hundreds of fans will have the opportunity to enter a virtual Etihad Stadium and play in an exciting PS4 online competition.

The qualifying rounds will start on Saturday 13 June, with the top eight players returning the following weekend to compete in the knockout group matches and grand finals, both of which will be broadcast in a live show on the Club’s official Facebook channel.

City’s professional FIFA player, Shellzz, will also be offering the winning player the opportunity to play a match against him and is excited to tune in.

“It’s great to hear that City has launched its first ever online esports tournament in Singapore. Singapore is a hotbed of gaming talent, and we are looking forward to seeing them all play,” he said.

Manchester City has had a permanent presence in Singapore since 2015 when the Club opened an office to manage commercial operations and fan engagement across the country and throughout south east Asia.

The FIFA 20 Cup builds further on the Club’s esports offering in the region and commitment to provide content and online events during this challenging period.
