Everyone at Manchester City is sad to hear that lifelong City fan and celebrity Eddie Large has passed away aged 78.
Eddie, whose real name was Hugh McGinnis, was born in Glasgow but grew up in Manchester and was a loyal and valued City fan throughout his life.
The comedian formed the double act Little and Large in partnership with Syd Little in 1963 and the pair went on to win Opportunity Knocks.
Little and Large then subsequently became household faces on TV throughout the 1970s and 80s through their hugely popular BBC One sketch show.
But despite his busy work schedule, Eddie always remained a regular and welcome presence at City games.
Our thoughts are with Eddie’s friends and family at this difficult time.
