With normal life across the country on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Manchester City are playing an active role on several fronts to help both supporters and the wider community as efforts intensify to try to combat the outbreak.

The Club has today launched our new Cityzens At Home website – a dedicated online resource aimed at allowing fans to remain close to the Club while we are apart during the COVID-19 outbreak.

On the website, supporters will find regularly updated news, advice and a wide range of fun and educational activities, centred on football, for the whole family to enjoy in your homes.

It will also provide all the latest Club news, as well as a range of fun and educational activities especially curated for the whole family to enjoy.

In addition, City have joined forces with Manchester United in order to donate a combined £100,000 to help food banks in Greater Manchester meet increased demand from vulnerable people as a result of the pandemic.

Following a new cooperation between the MCFC and MUFC Fans’ Foodbanks to launch a fundraising appeal in response to the impact of the coronavirus, each club will donate £50,000 to the Trussell Trust.

The Trussell Trust support a network of over 1,200 food bank centres, including 19 in the Greater Manchester area which will be the beneficiaries of this donation.

The donations will help local food banks increase capacity and compensate for the temporary loss of food donations on matchdays through the MCFC Fans’ Foodbank Support and MUFC Fans’ Foodbank.

Meanwhile, City in the Community has been continuing its vital outreach work by helping to support more than 200 educational facilities throughout Manchester through the development of specially prepared session plans along with fun-filled educational resources aimed at providing some much-needed excitement for youngsters.

Club staff have also been helping our elderly Seasoncard holders who may be feeling lonely or concerned.

Staff have been keeping in touch with them to offer their support and a friendly voice to lift their spirits during the current period of isolation which has confined us all to our homes.
