Fans raised over £26,000 and counting, with all event profits going towards CITC’s mental health programme, City Thrive.
Supporters braved the dizzying heights of the stadium’s East Reception turrets, with profits helping CITC’s mental health programme, City Thrive.
Blues aged from eight upwards took part in the event, which was sponsored by Nescafe Azera.
Margaret Carmichael, 93 from Knutsford, was the oldest participant to complete the drop, raising an incredible £2,000 in the process.
The funds raised will help the charity ensure its mental health programme City Thrive, can continue for longer.
City Thrive was developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to help provide support for thousands of people aged up to 25.
The programme itself utilities a blended approach, using football sessions, group workshops and one-to-one mentoring to educate students around mental health subjects whilst also equipping them with the tools to regulate their own mental wellbeing in a post COVID-19 landscape.
In partnership with the NHS, City Thrive also places a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Clinician, within the charity four days a week, enabling young people to access immediate support when they need it.
Senior Fundraising and Partnerships Manager, Sam Dainty, said: “We have been overwhelmed with the level of support fans have given the charity today.
“Not only did people push their minds and bodies to the limit, but they also did it whilst raising thousands of pounds to support young people in Manchester. We’d like to thank everyone who took part or donated.”
