Two former Manchester City managers have been putting celebrities and former players through their paces at the City Football Academy (CFA) in preparation for the upcoming Manchester Remembers charity football match.

The game, which is being held to commemorate the victims of the Manchester Arena attack, takes place at the Academy Stadium on Sunday 3 April, when a team of celebrities will face off against footballing legends.

Former City players Michael Brown, Paul Dickov, Colin Hendry, Shaun Goater and Trevor Sinclair will be part of the legends team, whilst Peter Reid and Joe Royle are taking charge of a celebrity squad including City fan and comedian, Jason Manford.

With the celebs needing to get up to speed ahead of the event, Reid and Royle put on a training session for them at the CFA.

The City-supporting Blossoms duo of Tom Ogden and Joe Donovan were in attendance, as were ex-Love Islanders Callum Jones and Dom Lever, Emmerdale’s Jay Kontzle and Britain’s Got Talent star Steve Royle.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United defender Wes Brown and ex-Oldham Athletic man Andy Holt were there representing the legends XI.
