Members of our Official Supporters Club (OSC) turned out to support a community volunteer event repainting one of our Cityzens Giving pitches in Mexico City last Saturday.

Joining up with Cityzens Giving Young Leaders, members of the local community, staff from love.fútbol and representatives from Club partner Rexona, the team worked tirelessly to refurbish the much-loved community pitch Deportivo El Coyolito, which was first funded by Cityzens Giving in 2017.

The pitch will be home to one of Cityzens Giving and Xylem’s Water Heroes Academy projects, a global initiative using the power of football to tackle local water challenges.

Reflecting on the event, Mexico City OSC member Jorge Ramirez said: “We’re very happy to have been able to take part in this great community volunteer event today and support the local community of El Coyolito.

As members of the Official Supporters Club here in Mexico City, we’re grateful to Cityzens Giving and love.fútbol for the work they do, and we congratulate them on all their support for the local community.”

The volunteer event kicks off a week of community activations in Mexico City, with coaches from City in the Community delivering four days of training to 40 Young Leaders across two sites, sharing expertise in leadership, community football and WASH education.

Fans in Mexico City will also have the opportunity to attend a football festival and screening of City v Spurs on Saturday 10th September, with a special visit from City legend Pablo Zabaleta and the Premier League trophy. More information HERE.

Our thanks to all those who supported the event. Take a look at what they got up to below!
