The Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies were joined by our newest honour, the Super Cup, in Le Louvre Abu Dhabi Park on Sunday, where fans are invited to experience the Treble Parade feeling for themselves.
There was also a screening of our top-flight game with Arsenal and, despite the eventual result, nothing could dampen the spirits of the fans as they got to see our honours from 2022/23 up close and personal.
Former City defender Joleon Lescott and club mascots Moonchester and Moonbeam were on hand for the event which was fully booked up well in advance due to phenomenal demand.
Read below how he found the trip in the latest instalment of ‘My Treble Trophy Tour’…
“It’s been amazing out here in Abu Dhabi.
“We’ve been so well received by the supporters and they’ve had such a good time seeing the trophies, which are a symbol of our incredible success last season.
“The fanbase here has grown over the last 10 years now and it’s really aiding the growth of the club as a whole.
“It’s always a special place to come to when you visit Abu Dhabi. Obviously, I recognise the international fans don’t get access to the trophies as much as fans in the UK.
“So, I’m pleased to be a part of this Treble Trophy Tour to showcase them to everybody.
“The event was booked up well in advance so that just goes to show just how popular Manchester City is here.
“As for Abu Dhabi, I have always enjoyed travelling here and every time I come, I see fans of this football club growing in numbers.
“We at City are really humbled by the reception we receive and encouraged by the growing popularity of the club in the UAE and the region as a whole.
“In terms of the experience of being out here, it’s been amazing from a personal perspective, too.
“Not only did I get the chance to meet our wonderful fans, I also met one of the greatest footballers of all-time – and one of my heroes.
“I went to the NBA Abu Dhabi game between Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves and I had the chance to chat to Ronaldo – R9, who was attending the game too.
“He’s a true legend and simply one of the greatest players to have played the game.
“I turned into a fan boy for the 5 minutes I was with him!
“It was a brilliant moment during a brilliant trip!”
