Our ‘We’re Not Really Here’ campaign aims to connect and engage our fans and in a series of new and innovative ways.
You may not be able to sing for the team in the stands this evening, but your support remains as important as ever.
So, here are some of the engagement initiatives we have prepared to keep our fans at the heart of everything we do on a matchday.
Inside the stadium
Seasoncard holders have been given the opportunity to have their Name in the Game woven into the new stadium design to form the lettering of ‘We’re Not Really Here’ in Level 1.
City fans around the world have sent images of support printed on a fan mosaic – photos will also be available online and will be updated every game – again in Level 1. You can still send yours for the upcoming games by visiting our dedicated mosaic page.
Fan banners designed by Cityzens will be placed on Level 2.
Images of the Club’s 300 Official Supporter Club (OSC) branches from around the world will be placed in the players’ tunnel to inspire the team as they walk out.
During the game
Newly installed screens, located pitch-side, will stream a live feed of Cityzens watching the game via video conferencing, helping them to feel closer to the action and share every moment with the players.
Our social media team will also highlight fan viewing experiences, with a live social media wall displaying messages and images of our Cityzens watching around the world throughout the game.
An enhanced matchday centre on the Club’s official app, including a new live pre-match show named ‘We’re Not Really Here’ for fans to tune with guests and Club legends. Our matchday centre is also available online with live commentary, stats, gallery and radio commentary.
We’re Not Really Here pre and post-match show
We’re Not Really Here (WNRH) kicks into life for the first time this evening and promises to be an eclectic mix of opinion, chat and all-things Manchester City.
Our new pre-match CityTV show will be presented by Cel Spellman and Kyle Walker (CityTV presenter Kyle, not the player!) and joined by former City players Shaun Wright-Phillips and Paul Dickov.
Other guests include ‘Esteemed Kompany’, Steven McInerney and Arsenal Fan TV host, Robbie Lyle.
The show will start at 18.45 pm and last for one hour and will be available on all of our official platforms.
During the game there will be live commentary (from 20.05pm) and footage of fans around the world watching the game – this will be on mancity.com and the app only.
At half-time, you’ll be able to watch a brief summary from our guests on our social media platforms.
Then, five minutes after full-time, the WNRH team discuss the main talking points and respond to fans polls (Man of the Match) questions and comments live from the studio.
We will also have post-match player interviews and Pep’s press conference (time permitting).
The post-match show will run for 30 minutes.
Digital programme
We have also developed an online matchday programme with new content for each remaining home game. This will be made available to seasoncard holders first to view online for free - and all supporters shortly after.
Exclusive to Seasoncard Holders, we have created a commemorative ticket book, for those who like to collect matchday mementos and items for their families and children.
We’ve taken every step to bring our supporters as close to the action as possible without actually being in the stadium and while nothing can replace your songs, chants and support, our aim is to provide the next best thing.
Come on, City!
