Five City players have been shortlisted for honours at the 2023 North West Football Awards.

Erling Haaland and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw are both up for the Men’s and Women’s Player of the Season after remarkable individual campaigns in front of goal.

Meanwhile, Rico Lewis, Esme Morgan and Jess Park have each been nominated for the Men’s and Women’s Rising Star awards.

Having been named PFA Player of the Year and UEFA Men’s Player of the Year last week, Haaland finds himself up for yet another individual prize following his exploits in 2022/23.

The Norwegian’s haul of 52 goals in 53 matches is the most for City in all competitions, while he also surpassed the Premier League record with 36 strikes in just 35 appearances.

It was a similarly outstanding campaign for Shaw, whose 31 strikes in 30 matches was also a record for our Women’s team across a single season.

The Jamaican’s performances, which saw her finish the season with 40 goals involvements, also earned her a spot on the PFA Women’s Player of the Year shortlist.

Lewis, meanwhile, enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2022/23, featuring 23 times after making his senior debut in August of last year.

The 18-year-old academy graduate even grabbed his first goal in blue against Sevilla in a 3-1 Champions League group stage triumph.

Morgan and Park are also in contention for the Women’s Rising Star award after impressive individual campaigns.

Both received their first senior England call-ups in 2022/23, with Morgan one of six City players to represent the Lionesses at this summer’s World Cup.

The defender would also captain her childhood club for the first time against Reading in November, making 23 appearances in all competitions for Gareth Taylor’s side.

Park on the other hand enjoyed a hugely successful loan spell at fellow Barclays Women’s Super League side Everton, even scoring in a memorable 3-0 win over Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

The awards will be held on Monday 6 November. Cast your vote by clicking here.
