Manchester City’s Chief Football Operations Officer, Omar Berrada, says the Club winning the ‘Best Football Club’ at Monday evening’s Ballon ‘d’Or awards was a proud moment for everyone connected to City.

It’s the first time the Club has won this prestigious honour, and it came on an evening when City were well represented in numerous categories at the event.

EDERSON THIRD IN 2022 YASHIN TROPHY

Karim Benzema won the 2022 Balon d’Or, with Kevin De Bruyne finishing third in the Men’s Rankings, Riyad Mahrez (12th), Bernardo Silva & Phil Foden (equal 22nd) and Joao Cancelo (25th), while Ederson was third in the Yashin Trophy, presented to the world’s top goalkeepers.

“It’s an incredible team effort and a really proud moment,” said Berrada.

“If you think about the journey the Club has been on, it’s amazing for Manchester City to be recognised like this.

“It’s been such a successful last decade or so and I’m really proud for the ownership, the players and everybody that’s been involved in this journey, and I’d like to say congratulations to every single person that’s been part of delivering this success.

“(The award) is about the Club being recognised for the success it has had on and off the pitch.
