Throughout the three days in Jakarta there was a swathe of surprises and activities alongside a screening of Pep Guardiola’s side’s trip to Wolves,
And City legend Shaun Wright-Phillips represented the Club in Asia by attending the numerous events.
On day one, the ex-England international visited the National Monument with all four trophies where he also had the chance to see Ondel-ondel, big dolls, an icon and mascot of Jakarta.
The second day started with our legend heading to our community project in Bandung by train, where he also met a new Official Supporter Club.
Young leaders then showed Shaun around the Rumah Cemara project centre where it had been decorated and refurbished by community volunteer the day before.
The 41-year-old then made the final touches to a City mural at the same location and added his signature.
To finish the day, Wright-Phillips, alongside Moonchester, joined a community football session where he met all the participants before giving advice and taking part in a five-a-side game.
On Saturday 30 September, The Treble Trophy Tour held our festival and match screening where Wright-Phillips was joined by two coaches from City Football Schools who ran coaching clinics.
Later in the night, we held the match screening against Wolves which was opened by traditional Betawi dance.
Finally on Saturday, there was a competition for fans to win a signed jersey by Jack Grealish for the supporter who drew the best image.
To conclude the trip, the Treble Trophy Tour visited British School Jakarta (BSJ) where we had our final City Football School.
During the event there was a Q and A session with students from different age groups who also had the opportunity to take pictures with our prestigious trophies.
Wright-Phillips then had the honor of making handprints with special materials to later be placed in the stadium that will be built by BSJ.
Read below how the ex-England international found the experience in the second edition of ‘My Treble Trophy Tour’…
“I had an amazing time in Jakarta and Indonesia.
“I hung out with the Young Leaders in Bandung and helped contribute to some charitable causes and played my part in doing a little bit of artwork which was nice.
“I heard the national music song with kids playing it on the drums which I thought was awesome and as you know I’m very much into my music.
“I got a live performance from a talented young lady who performed the national dance as well which was quite epic to see in real life to be honest. If you ever get the chance, make sure you see it.
“My experience with all the fans was amazing and you can see how quickly the Club has grown over here.
“We spoke to a fan in the hotel and he was saying how much and how quickly City’s fanbase over here is really growing so I was so excited to see the fans for the Wolves match.”
