Manchester City kicked off the ePremier League 2020/21 Club Playoffs on Monday, with both Shellzz and Ryan Pessoa qualifying for the live ePL Finals taking place at the end of March.

Thousands of competitors took part in this season’s online qualification on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the top eight players on each console from that stage representing their teams in the Club Playoffs in a bid to reach the Finals.

Supported by esports partners Nexen Tire and Etisalat, the Man City ePL live Playoff event was held online on Monday evening with commentary from the ‘voices of FIFA’ Brandon Smith and Richard Buckley for fans to enjoy and has been viewed over 35k times across Twitch and Youtube.

Man City’s Shaun “Shellzz” Springette successfully qualified for the second consecutive year with an aggregate score of 18-4 during the group stage. His Final was tightly contested, with Shellzz coming out on top 5-4 on aggregate against Sivorii to secure a place in the ePL Finals.

Ryan, who narrowly missed out on qualifying for the ePL Finals in 2020, comfortably progressed through his group with an aggregate score of 11-3.  His on-pitch display saw some outstanding goals, as he defeated previous ePL Finals player Sculpta 8-1 in his semi-final and won his Final against Joshhh9 6-3 on aggregate.

Ryan and Shellzz will next be in action representing Manchester City at the eClub World Cup for the third consecutive season, taking place next week between 24th – 28th February. The event will be broadcast live on FIFA’s social channels for fans to tune in and support.
