When checking out at the online Manchester City store, fans can now also add on a donation to CITC which will support its mental health programme, City Thrive.
The City Thrive programme utilises a blended approach, using football sessions, group workshops and one-to-one mentoring to educate young people around the subject of mental health whilst also equipping them with the tools to regulate their own mental wellbeing in a post COVID-19 landscape.
City Thrive is delivered in partnership with the NHS and includes a new mental health curriculum, blending specially adapted football sessions with one-to-one mentoring and group workshops on mental awareness, to improve mental wellbeing for people up to 25-years-of-age.
An NHS clinician has also been placed with City in the Community to support delivery staff and ensure that participants are offering immediate support for their mental wellbeing should it be required.
Sam Dainty, Senior Partnerships Manager said: “This update from Manchester City has the potential to be hugely impactful to young people living across the city, and any donation to CITC is hugely appreciated as we continue to tackle poor mental health following the pandemic
“The fans support means a lot to the foundation, and we would like to thank them, as well as the Club for their continued support.”
