On Friday Tekkz began his journey for a place in the FC Pro Open with a Swiss competition in which he played five games and needed to secure three wins in order to advance to the group stage on Saturday.
In his first match of the evening Tekkz beat Klinger 3-2 before an emphatic 8-2 victory over Fadiau.
He then came across his very own duo, Matias Bonanno, as both searched for their third and final wins needed for the evening.
In a thrilling and highly skilled match-up, Tekkz came out on top 5-3 to continue his unbeaten run. And he extended it to five wins with a 4-2 and 2-1 victory over Neissat and Levi De Weerd respectively.
Onto Saturday and in Group A, Tekkz needed two wins to secure his spot in the FC Pro Open.
And to add pressure, his first game was on the main stage and the EA Sports stream which had just over 200 thousand viewers. Tekkz, however, was unphased as he beat JH7 4-0.
Tekkz then faced Neissat again and it proved to be another close affair. Tekkz was on the verge of falling to his first defeat of the weekend before scoring a last-minute equaliser to send the game into extra-time.
It was full of drama as Neissat when down to 10 men before saving Tekkz’s penalty. But the England FC Pro remained composed to score twice in the final minutes to extend his unbeaten run.
His Man City Esports duo, Matias, will compete for his place in the FC Pro Open on Sunday afternoon.
