This week, our community project in New York will welcome 29 Young Leaders from across the US to the Young Leaders Summit.

Delivered by City in the Community New York, the official charitable arm of New York City FC, alongside coaches from City in the Community Manchester, the five-day programme will bring participants together for a unique experience focused on learning, collaboration and personal development.

Drawing on the expertise of both organisations, the initiative aims to equip young people with the skills, confidence and knowledge to create a positive impact through soccer.

Bringing together participants from New York and seven other cities across the country, the programme will provide tailored leadership training, opportunities to share experiences and ideas, and a chance to celebrate the communities they represent.

Participants have been recruited from Manchester City-funded community football projects in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York, alongside young coaches from Kansas, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., connected through City in the Community New York’s wider network.

The project builds on the success of previous Young Leaders Summits delivered by Manchester City in cities around the world, including Manchester, Atlanta, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Abu Dhabi.

As part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to empowering young community football leaders, the programme continues to provide opportunities for young people to develop their leadership skills and create lasting change in their local communities.
