Alex Williams, CITC Ambassador and golf pants extraordinaire, has taken some time to tell us why it’s bigger and better than ever...
Alex, this isn’t your usual round of golf! What are you most looking forward to?
Blues on the Green is a very unique experience. Supporters are not only offered a fantastic round of golf against City legends, but also a packed evening of entertainment.
This year, I’m particuarly excited about the question and answer session with players from MCFC’s 1999 Play-off Final. For anyone who doesn’t remember, it was a nail-biter against Gilimgham which saw us promoted to the First Divison on penalties!

Congratulations on celebrating your third year! Why do you think Blues on the Green has become so well loved by supporters?
Blues on the Green offers so much more than just a round of golf and we’re extremely grateful to have received so much support from the public and our event sponsor, Barclays. It’s invaluable and we hope that this year’s event will enable us to continue shaping the lives of young people in our local community.
Sounds like a fantastic opportunity - but what if we can’t play golf!?
Blues on the Green is for golfers of all abilities! But if you do want to give the 18-holes a miss, that doesn’t mean you can’t come along to the evening’s entertainment, which starts at 6pm.
Tickets are £30 per head and include a 3-course meal, auction and of course the Q&A – we are hoping to see lots of people there!
