City in the Community are recruiting men aged between 30 and 65 for a new health and wellbeing programme taking place at the Etihad Campus.

In partnership with the University of Glasgow, European Fans in Training (EuroFIT) is a new 12-week course developed for football fans in who want to change their lifestyle for the better.

Each session includes physical activity led by City in the Community coaches as well as focusing on how to incorporate these new skills and techniques into your everyday life. The sessions will also offer you the opportunity to meet like-minded people and share tips and advice.

Mike Green, Head of City in the Community said: “City in the Community has established health and wellbeing programmes being delivered to hundreds of adults and young people in Manchester.

“This includes ‘Walking Football’, which has already seen over 1,800 hours of participation.

“We are looking forward to the EuroFIT programme being hosted at the Etihad Campus. It’s a great opportunity to for those looking to improve their lifestyle get the headstart they need.”

All potential participants are initially invited to an information evening in September where the programme and what it entails is explained.

Participants will then be given a small activity monitor to wear for seven days. The monitor will record physical activity throughout the day, as well as how much time is spent sitting, standing or lying down.
