MCFC players took time out of their busy training schedule last week to meet five brave fans and make their wishes come true.

Supporters Max (9), Hayden (10), Nathan (11), Thomas (18) and Samantha (28) had all put in requests to meet the Blues through wish granting charities including Starlight Children’s Foundation, Rays of Sunshine and Willow Foundation.

The City mad group brought a variety of family members with them, with many arriving in style to City Football Academy in Hummers and limousines.

The afternoon included an access all areas pass, as visitors were taken on a tour of City Football Academy’s first team building by former kit man, Les Chapman, before meeting the squad after training.

Vincent Kompany, Manchester City Captain, said: “We were delighted to welcome the families to training last week.

“We’re very lucky to have such dedicated supporters so it was great to meet them as their positivity was an inspiration to the whole team.”

The visit was arranged as part of the Club’s on-going relationship with ‘wish granting’ charities and supporting its fans.

Jane Sharpe, Rays of Sunshine CEO, said: “So many youngsters dream of meeting their favourite football team and we are so grateful to Manchester City FC for making it possible for Nathan and Max to fulfil their greatest wishes to meet the team and watch them train.

“This incredible day gave both boys and their families the chance to put thoughts of their illness on hold and enjoy a once in a lifetime experience that they will never forget.”
