Using the global appeal of the Premier League, together with the British Council’s extensive international network and the experience of Premier League clubs, such as champions City, Premier Skills makes a profound difference every day.
The initiative not only increases the opportunities available to young people from some of the world’s most vulnerable regions but also allows the coaches and their students to develop their employability skills whilst raising their self-esteem.
Daniel was joined by community coaches from across the UK and Malaysia and Premier Skills Head Coach, Jez Weeks.
Together, they engaged with 60 coaches from varying backgrounds, delivering classroom and practical sessions to give participants new ideas about how to use football as a tool to engage the local community - a concept that forms part of the core ethos of City in the Community.
To cap off an exciting and educational week, there was a celebratory football festival for local youngsters during which each coach received a gift from the Club.
Daniel proudly handed out MCFC tracksuits, photos and match day programmes to show CITC’s appreciation for receiving such a warm welcome to India.
Commenting on the once-in-a-lifetime experience Daniel said: “It is an honour to represent City in the Community abroad and to pass on the experience I have gained here in Manchester.
“Working with such friendly people and experiencing their culture was an unforgettable experience. It makes you appreciate how lucky we are to have the facilities we have.
“The entire Premier League is having a truly positive impact across the globe and it is a privilege to be able to be a part of that.”
