City in the Community (CITC) is offering women and girls the opportunity to enhance their football skills with a new programme.

Last week CITC launched ‘Premier League 4Girls’, which provides free weekly football sessions at City Football Academy, for people aged 14 and over. Open to everyone, the programme gives participants the opportunity to train in a fun and engaging environment, at world class facilities.

Last season, the foundation worked with nearly 900 women and girls across its football activities, totalling over 740 hours of delivery time.

CITC launch free football for women and girls

Hannah Steele, City in the Community Women and Girl’s Coordinator, said: “We are passionate about increasing the number of opportunities for women and girls to play football in Manchester. MCWFC have been amazing in inspiring people to get involved and have become visible role models for participants.

“Over the last four years we have increased participation from 8% to 34%, which is great, but we hope to get even more women and girls playing over the course of the season!”

Sessions take place every Wednesday night, on the indoor pitch, from 8pm – 9pm.To find out more, contact Hannah Steele on: 0161 438 7844 / hannah.steele@cityfootball.com.
