As Manchester City’s Festive Face Off reaches its climax, Team Santa and Team Elf have received a welcome show of support from City in the Community (CITC) participants.

With voting set to close on Friday 23 December, the competition is heating up and this week eight pupils from Newall Green Primary School visited the City Football Academy to pledge their allegiance to their favourite side.

Following in the footsteps of their footballing heroes, the youngsters donned their favourite jumper for a festive photo shoot just like City players past and present did to launch the competition in November.

Much more than a dose of yuletide fun, this Christmas initiative will see the Club donate £5 for every jumper bought to local community football projects, which these young people and many more across the city participate in with CITC.

Newall Green Primary School is one of a number of Manchester schools where the Foundation deliver an extensive range of community programmes to students every day. These include physical education classes, extra-curricular sport for boys, girls and staff, ‘One City’ Disability Awareness sessions, and a selection of health and nutrition activities.

In a year in which CITC celebrates its 30th anniversary there’s plenty more festive fun to come in the build up to the big day.

#BlueChristmas matchday.

We want fans to tweet their selfies wearing the Manchester City Blue Santa hat to @CITCtweets and to make sure they’re donning their festive headwear at half time against the Gunners.

Three lucky Blues will be picked out on our ‘Santa Cam’ and could be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes, including two Etihad flights to anywhere around the world.

And there’s more!

There’ll be plenty of festive fun going on before the match gets underway too, including a Santa’s grotto, face painting and a CITC themed selfie booth as we spread the Christmas cheer in City Square.

Don’t forget, if you’ve not already decided whether you’re Team Santa or Team Elf, you need to cast your vote before the winning side is announced on Christmas Eve.

Everyone who sides with the successful team will be entered into a prize draw to meet the winning captain, crown his team the winner and receive a shirt signed by either Kevin de Bruyne or Vincent Kompany.
