City in the Community is starting the New Year by looking ahead to its upcoming fundraisers!

2016 will see the Foundation continue to host a range of events, which gives fans the opportunity to support their local community through the power of sport.

ASICS Manchester Marathon

This year’s fundraising opportunities kick-off with the ASICS Manchester Marathon on Sunday 10 April. The race will be the 40th Manchester Marathon and is ideal for runners who enjoy a flat, fast race.

All CITC runners will receive free entry to the 26.2 mile race and are asked to raise a minimum of £250. To register your interest, email marathon@mcfc.co.uk by midnight on 28 January.

Sarah Wilson, who participated for CITC last year, said: “Running the marathon was a life changing experience. The dedication and commitment to training really helped me realise how much I could fit into my life alongside my full time job and has opened my eyes into looking at other fulfilling things I can do with my time.

“And on top of all that the icing on the cake was raising such a fantastic amount of money for a charity that can really impact the local community and beyond!”

Entrants will also receive a CITC race t-shirt, 10-week training plan and a prize for the highest fundraiser in the team!

Velocity

CITC’s Velocity event returns for the fourth time on 23 April, which challenges supporters to a day of track cycling at Manchester’s Velodrome. Teams of five are invited to test their speed, and endurance in a one hour pursuit.

Whether you’re experiencing track cycling for the first time, or you’re a Velodrome regular, as long as you can ride a bike and are aged 12 or above, then Velocity is for you!

Teams are asked to raise £500 (peak hours) or £150 (off-peak) with all proceeds going to support CITC’s sessions. To register an interest, contact: velocity@mcfc.co.uk

The Etihad Stadium Tournament

Ever wanted to experience what it’s like to play at the home of Manchester City Football Club? The Etihad Stadium Tournament returns in May!

The event gives supporters the opportunity to play on the pitch of their heroes and enjoy a range of special extras, whilst raising funds for their local community.

Team entries cost £2,500 with a squad limit of 16 players. To find out more, contact: etihadtournament@mcfc.co.uk
