City in the Community celebrated the first set of its BTEC graduates earlier this month, at a special end of season awards ceremony.

In partnership with Hopwood Hall College, the Level 3 BTEC in Sport and Football encompasses both classroom based and physical lessons here at the City Football Academy.

The end of year awards ceremony marks the first time a group of youngsters have graduated from the two year course and received accolades for their achievements.

Head of CITC, Mike Green said “We’ve got a fantastic partnership with Hopwood Hall College and this is a programme the Club is very proud of.

“The awards ceremony was a great way to acknowledge everything the graduates have achieved over the past two years and we’re looking forward to welcoming our next group of students in September.”

As well as achieving a Level 3 BTEC in Sport and Football, several of the students are now volunteers or work part time for City in the Community.

There are currently 48 young men and women enrolled on the course, and over 100 applicants have already applied for next year.

The Level 3 BTEC in Sport and Football is still open, and potential students are welcome to apply via the Hopwood Hall College website.
