City in the Community is celebrating 30 years of making a difference to the lives of people in Manchester.
To mark the occasion, New Economy Manchester has examined the impact various projects have had on participants and the wider community across the city.
Focusing on the foundation’s two flagship programmes - the disability football project ‘One City’ and the Kicks project - the Football Effect report sheds light on the extent of City in the Community’s work.
This year, we are working with 40,000 people within Greater Manchester and both of the above programmes have played a pivotal role in helping to bring greater access to sport for young and disabled people.

The numbers in this report speak for themselves, but one of the very special parts of this research and indeed the 30 year celebration has been hearing stories from participants.
Throughout the 2016/17 season we’ll uncover 30 stories which recognise the excellence and impact of City in the Community’s work.
Unlike the figures in this report, these stories are not something we can evaluate in a quantitative way, but often best exemplify what City in the Community is all about.
