Two Manchester City fans saw their dreams turn in to reality when they met their football heroes at the Etihad Campus last week.

Working with The Honey Rose Foundation, which grants wishes for adults with life threatening and terminal illnesses, the Club was delighted to invite lifelong supporters, Melvin (71), Neil (56) and their families, for an unforgettable experience at the City Football Academy.

First on the day’s agenda, was a sneak peek at Pep Guardiola’s training session before heading inside for an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the first team facilities.

During lunch, Melvin, who has been a Blue for over 50-years, entertained the group with fascinating stories about his ventures around the country to watch the boys in Blue and reminisced over his Maine Road memories.

To complete an memorable day both men shook the hands with each player and the manager, all of whom stopped for a photograph after training.

It was a rare opportunity to experience life at the City Football Academy in its entirety and something Melvin’s son Mark insists the family will never forget.

“The opportunity to meet the fantastic players and of course Pep has been truly unforgettable,” he said.

“The memories will stay with us forever.”
