City’s global Foundation gives city kids a better shot at life through its Cityzens Giving programme, supporting youth-led projects worldwide, which tackle pressing social issues through the power of football
Over the past five years, more than 1,000 young leaders in 20 cities have been given funding and training to deliver life-changing projects, spanning female empowerment, healthy lifestyles, education, social inclusion and crime reduction to name a few. To date, more than 25,000 young lives have been positively impacted.
For the past three years, SAP has supported the Club’s Cityzens Giving projects in Manchester and New York, specifically focused on female empowerment, and social inclusion.

“SAP’s purpose-driven vision is to make the world run better and improve people’s lives,” said Alicia Tillman, Chief Marketing Officer for SAP. “We’re proud to partner with City Football Group and leverage our innovations to improve City’s charitable operations and to impact social change with their partners around the world by these inspirational young leaders.”
Throughout the partnership, City and SAP have striven to find solutions from the boardroom to the pitch. They are now extending their commitment to improving communities and lives through a co-developed analytics platform that leverages cutting-edge SAP technology to help measure the impact of Cityzens Giving projects worldwide.
Utilising a, real time dashboard running on SAP Cloud Platform and leveraging SAP Analytics, City can track and quantify the positive life-changing impact and share learnings across their community football projects to improve their impact with young people all around the world.
Furthermore, data collection has been simplified with the use of SAP Fiori’s digital survey application.
As SAP and City strive to run their projects even better, they will celebrate football fans who make their world run better. SAP Man City Community Heroes will invite fans to nominate their community heroes by the end of February. The submissions will then be shortlisted and put to a public vote, to choose an eventual winner.
The top voted community hero and their nominator will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent Manchester City and SAP on an international volunteering trip with Cityzens Giving.
They will then be taken to meet some of their Manchester City heroes. Shortlisted nominees and their nominators will have the opportunity to come to the Etihad Stadium for an all-inclusive matchday experience.
“We are incredibly proud of our partnership with SAP, which as well as helping us to drive performance from the boardroom to the pitch will now also help us to measure the impact of our life-changing Cityzens Giving projects more effectively all over the world,” added Nuria Tarre, Chief Marketing Officer for City Football Group.
“We are hugely excited to work together to focus beyond our existing projects and to shine a light on community heroes globally. We cannot wait to hear the stories of inspirational figures who are making positive impacts on their communities and celebrate them.”
