Pupils from Ravensbury primary school in Manchester received an early Christmas gift as they were surprised by three members of the City first-team squad recently.
Phil Foden, Scott Carson and Angelino joined the youngsters as they took part in a UBTECH City Stars ICT lesson, delivered by CITC staff. The pupils showed the players how to control and manoeuvre the UBTECH robots, before taking them on in a fiercely competitive 3-v-3 robot football match.
City in the Community delivers the UBTECH City Stars ICT programme in schools across Greater Manchester and aims to use the inspiration of Manchester City Football Club and UBTECH robots to engage children in computing, tablets and coding. The programme is aimed at primary school children in Years 4, 5 and 6, and is delivered across six weeks.
City Stars ICT aims to increase children’s enjoyment and confidence when using computers and tablets, while also improve their knowledge and confidence of programming.
