The Hideaway Youth project is funded by the Football foundation to work with young people in the Moss Side area and uses football as a tool to increase community cohesion.
The FA Charter Standard award was presented to the youth group’s football ream Hideaway FC before the recent home game against Everton by Alex Williams MBE.
The award recognises football clubs who have achieved best practise in terms of coaching, administration, player development and child protection.
Hideaway FC Club Secretary Pete Thomason said ‘‘This award highlights the extensive work of Hideaway in the field of football development and community cohesion within Moss Side and it’s surrounding districts ‘’
The Hideaway works closely with CITC on the Kickz project based at the Platt Lane Leisure project where over 200 young people a week between the ages of 13 – 18 get the chance to take part in a range of sporting and non-sporting activities on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
