The young people aged 13-16 had to present their ideas on how to increase attendance at Category C games at Premier League grounds to a team of Dragon’s Den style judges including MCFC Chief Commercial Officer Steve Sayer.
The event was supported by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Premier League Enterprise Academy initiative which gives young people a unique insight into the running of professional football clubs.
Two Trees Sports College from Denton represented Manchester City in the competition which was eventually won by a team from Everton.
Each year Manchester City’s charity City in the Community (CITC) engages with over 1500 young through its Enterprise City scheme, some of which were lucky enough to meet City winger Martin Petrov at a recent graduation ceremony.
CITC’s Skills and Enterprise Manager Mike Green said: “The event was a great success and it was great of both Roque and Steve to give up their time to take part in the event.
“Enterprise and helping young people to learn about business is a key theme for CITC so we were happy to host the event on behalf of the Premier League.”
