His assessment followed a late 3-2 defeat at Everton in which City saw out the final few minutes with 10 men.

However, there are some aspects him and his team will work on as our attention now turns to our trip to Stoke next week.
“Yeah, I thought that I was really pleased with the large majority of the performance. I thought the intent of the team and the behaviours of the team with and without the ball were really good,” began Wilkinson.
“I thought we pressed aggressively. We were really good on how we wanted to press and how we wanted to defend within our structure.
“And with the ball, I thought we were clean, we were dangerous, we created, we had a threat. So the actual performance I thought was really, really, really, really good.
“We just need to get better on certain actions, individual actions.
“We conceded the same goal twice in terms of dealing with long balls and not winning duels.
“So that was disappointing, and also probably not being clinical enough on the other side of it,” Wilkinson continued.
“I was pleased with the performance, but the boys need to learn fast in terms of trying to make the step from here [PL2 football] to first-team football.
“There’s a lot of stuff that came in that game today they’re going to get at first team, and you need to be able to deal with those moments.”
