Carlos Borges has been named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for February.

Our Elite Development Squad winger has secured the prize after an outstanding month in domestic football personally and for Brian Barry-Murphy’s side as a whole.

The Portugal youth international scored three times as we won two and drew one of our three Premier League 2 matches, putting us in pole position for a third consecutive title.

The 18-year-old is currently the league’s leading scorer, with 16 strikes in 18 matches.

His February began with a decisive brace in a 3-1 win against Liverpool before he then featured as a second half substitute in a 2-2 draw at Fulham.

His final Premier League 2 appearance of the month came in a 5-0 win over Everton, where he netted City’s third goal.

Carlos’s superb form was enough to fight off competition from Omari Forson (Manchester United); Harry Gardiner (Sunderland); Alfie Gilchrist (Chelsea); Omari Kellyman (Aston Villa); Divin Mubama (West Ham United); Romaine Mundle (Tottenham Hotspur) and Oliver Tipton (Wolverhampton Wanderers).

Congratulations to Carlos on his award!
