City Elite Development Squad winger Carlos Borges has been shortlisted for the PL2 Player of the Month for February.

The City youngster, who was also nominated for January’s award, enjoyed another stellar month with Brian Barry Murphy’s exciting side.

The 18-year-old contributed three goals and an assist as City enjoyed fine Premier League 2 victories over Liverpool (3-1) and Everton (5-0) as well as fighting back to claim a 2-2 draw away at Fulham.

That sequence ensured we remained in top spot as we chase what would be an unprecedented third title in a row.

A total of eight nominees are up for the award after being selected by the Premier League’s Football Development Panel.

The other nominees are: Omari Forson (Manchester United); Harry Gardiner (Sunderland); Alfie Gilchrist (Chelsea); Omari Kellyman (Aston Villa); Divin Mubama (West Ham United); Romaine Mundle (Tottenham Hotspur); Oliver Tipton (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

The winner will be announced on Friday 10 March at 10am.

Good luck to Carlos!
