Sunday’s 3-0 win away at Blackburn confirmed Brian Barry-Murphy’s exciting young squad as champions – and saw City become the first side to lift the trophy three seasons in a row.
With two games of the season still to go, City’s Under-21s have won 16 of our 24 matches and have been best in class across every conceivable metric.
Our 70 goals (update after Blackburn) across the 24 games to date is by far the best in PL2, averaging an incredible 2.9 goals per game.
The title win featured a number of superb all-round team displays including memorable 6-0 and 6-1 derby victories against Manchester United, a 6-0 home win against Arsenal and 5-0 triumph away at Crystal Palace.
City’s defence has been equally outstanding too with Barry-Murphy’s young charges conceding just 23 goals, another PL2 best tally, racking up eight clean sheets along.
By any measure it has been another extraordinary season to remember.
