Justin Oboavwoduo scored two goals in a tightly contested Under-18s Premier League Final to seal the title for a third consecutive time.

It was a special night at the Etihad, as Ben Wilkinson’s young side looked to defend their Under-18s Premier League National crown against southern champions, West Ham United.

And it was the Hammers who spoilt the party earlier on, as they broke the deadlock and opened the scoring.

Patrick Kelly delivered a defence splitting through ball to Gideon Kodula, who swept the ball calmly into the net.

City kept probing away in the second half and managed to draw level.

A ball was whipped in to Justin Oboavwoduo, who got his head onto the ball, visiting keeper, Finlay Herrick, managed to get a palm onto the ball but it was not enough, as the ball rolled kindly over the line, to the elation of the City team.

The teams could not be split after 90 minutes, as both counterparts faced another 30 minutes of football to decide the national title.

It was City who pushed on to grab our second of the evening.

After a direct run from Ashton Muir, he laid the ball to Kane Taylor, who’s effort was saved by Herrick, but Oboavwoduo met the rebound, to smashed in his brace.
