Goals from Tai Sodje and Dire Mebude were enough to ensure Ben Wilkinson‘s youngsters became the first side to claim the the Under-18 Premier League title for a third successive season.
Things had initially not gone to plan for City, with Kamari Doyle grabbing the game’s opening goal with a clinical finish past Josh McNamara just after the 15-minute mark.
But City mounted a defiant response, with Sodje stealing in ahead of Eddie Beach to tap home Mebude’s ball in at the near post.
And the comeback was complete on the stroke of half-time when Mebude latched on to Carlos Borges’ inch-perfect pass, skipped away from Leon Pambou and found the bottom corner.
City weren’t able to add to the lead in the second 45 at St. Mary’s Stadium, but victory ensured our grip on the Under-18s Premier League remains as strong as ever.
