After joining from National League side Southend United in the summer of 2021, the goalkeeper played a big part in helping City regain the Under-18s Premier League title last season.
Ben Wilkinson‘s youngsters have started the 2022/23 campaign brightly and sit third in the league table with 13 points from six games, and have games in hand over Liverpool and Sunderland above them.
City are also the second-highest scorers in the division with 21 goals, one behind Sunderland, while having a better goal difference than the Black Cats.
Murray-Jones is not surprised with City’s scoring rate this season and says facing his attack-minded team-mates on a daily basis is making him a better goalkeeper.

“When you are training and playing against the best young players that the country has to offer, it certainly helps your development,” he said.
“It has for me anyway, when you are facing them each training session you know you have to be switched on.
“It has helped me in games as well, you are switched on in every moment, compared to the football I was playing at Southend it is much more of a challenge.”
The 18-year-old was handed his first European start on Wednesday afternoon, as our Under-19s side finished off their UEFA Youth League Group G campaign with a 1-0 win over Sevilla at the Academy Stadium.
Keeping a clean sheet on debut are what dreams are made of for a goalkeeper making his way in the game.
The youngster doesn’t want to stop there and has his sights set on winning numerous trophies come the end of the season.
“I think the season has gone pretty well so far,” he added.
“I am just trying to learn as much as I can do and I want to reach the levels that I know I am capable of, but I think the season has gone okay so far.
“I’d like to win the Under-18s League and Cup, and I’d also like to win the FA Youth Cup as well.”
