City's Under-18s continued our rich vein of form after an impressive 2-0 away win over Leeds United in the Under-18 Premier League North.

Two first half goals from Darko Gyabi and Liam Smith in West Yorkshire secured all three points to maintain our unbeaten start to the season.

WHAT HAPPENED

Fresh off the back of last Monday’s FA Youth Cup triumph, Carlos Vicens’ side diverted attention back to our league campaign, and there was no case of a cup final hangover as we had the lead inside 25 minutes.

Alex Robertson was the provider, as he set up Gyabi to put us ahead with his second league goal of the season.

The City youngsters continued to dominate the opening 45 minutes, and this dominance was rewarded just moments before the half-time whistle as Smith netted our second goal of the afternoon to put Vicens’ men in a commanding position at the break.

It was more of the same after the restart as City put in a professional second half showing to see out the game, securing all three points, and a third league win on the road.

HOW WE LINED UP

Josh McNamara’s goal was guarded by a back four of Kwaku Oduroh, Finley Burns, Callum Doyle and Liam Smith. Romeo Lavia, Alex Robertson and Josh Adam formed a midfield three, with Oscar Bobb on the right and Darko Gyabi on the left wing.

Tai Sodjie led the line up front.

WHAT IT MEANS

The victory extends our unbeaten start to this season’s Under-18 Premier League North campaign and puts us second in the table, one point behind Liverpool with 17 points from seven games.
