Elite Development Squad midfielder Jaden Heskey will spend the rest of the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.

The 20-year-old joins the Championship side in what is his first loan spell away from City.

Heskey has been part of the Club since the Under-9s.

For most of his time in City’s age groups, the versatile Blue often played as a striker or attacking midfielder.

As he’s matured, Heskey has been trusted to feature out of position, mostly as a box-to-box midfielder, and he has made the role his own in recent months with his work ethic, ability to read play and leadership skills.

Heskey’s first season with the Under-18s in 2022/23 was hindered by injury.

On his return in 2023/24, Ben Wilkinson trusted him to captain the side, leading our young boys to FA Youth Cup success with a 4-0 win over Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium.

At 18, he was then given the opportunity to travel to the United States with Pep Guardiola’s side on our pre-season tour, before making the step up to the EDS in 2024/25.

Heskey played a key role in City’s Premier League 2 title triumph, totalling 23 league appearances out of 24, and eight goal involvements.

Heskey’s hard work then saw him rewarded with his senior debut in 2025/26 as a second-half substitute in City’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield in the Carabao Cup.

The occasion was a special one for the Heskey family, as he featured for the first team alongside his brother, Reigan.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Jaden the very best of luck during his time with Sheffield Wednesday.
