Oliver Reiss was appointed the Lead Coach for City’s young and developing squad in the summer following Ben Wilkinson’s jump up to the Elite Development Squad.
The German coach spent 17 years working at various Academy levels at Hertha Berlin before moving to England in the summer.
Now, excited by the opportunity to compete in the Under-18 Premier League and help develop the Club’s up-and-coming talent, Reiss and City will begin our race for the north title at 11:00 (UK) on Saturday 17 August at Leeds.
Our meeting with the Yorkshire team comes just over three months after our FA Youth Cup triumph at the Etihad Stadium where City ran out 4-0 victors.
A week later, on Saturday 24 August, our first home game of the campaign will see City welcome our neighbours Manchester United to the City Football Academy in what will be the most exciting fixture on the calendar.
Last season, City handed United their first of two defeats of the 2023/24 campaign. A thrilling 4-1 win courtesy of goals from Farid Alfa-Ruprecht, Ashton Muir and a Jaydan Kamason own-goal meant the title race went to the wire.
United will be looking to retain the Under-18 Premier League North title whereas City will be looking to win back the title after fourth successive trophy lifts in the years prior. The reverse fixture will see City travel to Carrington on Saturday 1 February.
The Under-18 season will end on Saturday 3 May with a trip to Newcastle United. Our full league fixture list is available below and on the website’s fixture page, including kick-off times*.
As well as the Under-18s’ league fixtures being confirmed, City’s three Under-18 Premier League Cup group stage games have been confirmed. We will travel to Norwich and Derby with a home game against Brighton in between. These fixtures are available below.
Information as to which games will be shown on CITY+ will be available on mancity.com and the official app.
