City Under-18’s extended our unbeaten start to the Under-18 Premier League North season as we defeated Newcastle United 1-0 away from home.

Oscar Bobb’s goal just after half-time proved to be the difference, keeping Carlos Vicens’ side top of the standings.

What happened?

After a closely fought first 45 minutes we made the all-important breakthrough just after half-time.

Tai Sodje, who has often been the man to find the net this campaign turned provider, as he laid on Bobb to give the City youngsters the lead.

Vicens’ men then followed up Bobb’s opener with a professional second half display to see out the game and help secure another important three points on the road.

How We Lined Up

Josh McNamara’s goal was protected by a back four of Kwaku Oduroh, Shea Charles, Callum Doyle Kane Taylor. Romeo Lavia, Joe Hodge and Alex Robertson then formed a midfield three, with Oscar Bobb right and Darko Gyabi on the left wing.

Tai Sodjie led the line up front.

The win extends our unbeaten start to the Under-18 Premier League campaign, and means we stay top of the table after six games with 14 points
