The 16-year-old striker joined City’s Academy in January 2025 from Leyton Orient.
And he has quickly adjusted to life in Manchester, scoring 25 goals in his debut Under-18 Premier League North season with the Blues.
It is also the first campaign in which he has experienced what game day is like when City take on our cross-city rivals Manchester United.

Lamb’s first encounter with the Red Devils saw City claw back from 2-0 down to win 4-2 at Carrington before featuring as a substitute on his return from injury in a 3-1 defeat at the City Football Academy in the reverse league fixture.
Now, our latest test with United will see an all-Manchester FA Youth Cup final take place at the Joie Stadium.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Lamb with a smile.
“It’s a massive game against our biggest rivals and title challengers for the whole season. So there is a lot of weight on the game so we just can’t wait to get to the game now.
“You can tell the grit that it has [a Manchester derby].
“When I first moved to Manchester I went to the first derby I’ve ever seen. You can tell the rivalry is huge and the weight this game has just based on location, the fans and the history.
“So I’m really looking forward to it and I understand what it means to the players, the fans and the Club.”
Kick-off at the Joie is set for 19:00 (UK) with the final few tickets still available here.
It’s a third successive FA Youth Cup final for City, an incredible achievement for the Club.
In 2024, City young Blues beat United 4-0 at the Etihad to see us lift the trophy for a fourth time in the Club’s history.
Last term, Oliver Reiss’ side fell to a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park.
But, this time around, the team are using last season’s heartbreak to fuel us ahead of Thursday night’s clash.
From speaking to the team I understand what it meant to lose that,” began Lamb.
“It’s a horrible feeling. The team hadn’t lost a game since August and it just shows that those losses can impact the overall feeling of a season.
“This season we want to eliminate that feeling because a couple players in the team this season know what it’s like and we don’t want to feel it again. And I totally agree.
“We’ve won it [FA Youth Cup] four times before so it’s a great opportunity to add to it. And the way that we can do it, to beat United, would be remembered for a long time.”
