Manchester City's Under-18s secured an unbeaten home league record this campaign with a convincing 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.

A goal either side of half-time from Josh Adam and Micah Hamilton secured the victory for Carlos Vicens’ team in a complete team performance from the City youngsters.

Victory means City stay right in the Under-18 Premier League North league title hunt with three games to play, as we sit five points behind leaders, Manchester United with two games in hand.

WHAT HAPPENED

As they had done often this year, City started strongly and looked to control possesion from the off.

After a dominant start, Vicens’ side finally broke down the stern Rovers defence five minutes before the break as Adam opened the scoring to give City a valuable lead at the interval.

After the break the action continued in a similar vein with City dictating play, and we were rewarded with 20 minutes left as Hamilton added the all-important second with his ninth league goal of the season.

HOW WE LINED UP

Mikki Van Sas‘ goal was protected by a defence of Kwaku Oduroh, Shea Charles, Jadel Katongo and Callum Doyle.

Darko Gyabi, Kane Taylor and Micah Hamilton formed our midfield, whilst Oscar Bobb, Samuel Edozie and Carlos Borges made up an inter-changing front three.

WHAT IT MEANS

City remain five points behind United but do have two games in hand on our league title rivals.

Vicens and his team know three wins from their final three games will secure the Under-18 Premier League North title.
